The Origins Of Modern Myanmar

Razib Khan offers a stunningly cogent account of the cultural history of Myanmar (Burma) and neighboring regions, from the point of view of the origins and affiliations of ethnicities religiously, racially, linguistically, and historically.  In the course of doing so, he also neatly traces out important trends in the history of Western Civilization after the fall of Rome.

Summaries or brief snippets can't do his piece justice.  Read the whole thing.
